⚙️ How Induction Works
Not every popular link makes the cut. To be inducted into the Hall of Fame, a link must satisfy a specific set of rigorous rules.
The Hall Rule: A link is inducted only if it demonstrates sustained interest from multiple distinct users over a long period.
Requirements Checklist:
- total submissions.
- unique submitters.
- years of active resurfacing.
- "breakout events" (must be from different submitters and separated by at least 720 days).
Induction Logic Flow:
Technical Implementation Note
The system essentially tracks the "half-life" and "resurrection rate" of a URL. In pseudo-code:
if (link.submissions >= 5 &&
link.uniqueSubmitters >= 3 &&
link.activeYears >= 3 &&
link.breakoutEvents >= 2) {
return "Hall of Fame";
} else {
return "Candidate";
}
