Superlogical

Modern software engineering is a sprawling endeavor. The act of building and maintaining code now stretches across a fragmented landscape: local machines, remote hosts, isolated sandboxes, cloud services, and live production environments.

The Fragmentation Problem

Currently, we operate in three primary modes:

  1. Interactive: A human developer typing commands.
  2. Automatic: CI pipelines and background cron jobs.
  3. Agentic: AI agents working in parallel.

While these modes are intrinsically linked, our current toolset treats them as isolated silos. Once code hits production, it is further sequestered behind distinct security layers and control systems.

"AI has made this fragmentation more obvious and expensive, but it is not the cause. For decades, the boundaries between system administration, remote collaboration, and continuous integration have been under immense strain."

The Current State vs. The Vision

The Solution: A Durable Session

We believe the industry is missing a durable session layer that wraps around the work itself. We envision a system that:

  • Spans multiple applications and environments.
  • Provides inherent, relevant context.
  • Exposes structured actions and data.
  • Maintains a permanent history.
  • Is programmable via software yet remains transparent and controllable by humans.

Mathematically, we view the total workflow as a summation of these disparate streams: Total Work=∑(Interactive+Automatic+Production)\text{Total Work} = \sum (\text{Interactive} + \text{Automatic} + \text{Production})Total Work=∑(Interactive+Automatic+Production)

Our Roadmap: The Multiplexer

Our first objective is to build a world-class multiplexer. In technical terms, a multiplexer combines several independent signals into one interface. For Superlogical, this means merging interactive, automatic, and production workflows into a single, cohesive system.

Key Features of the Multiplexer:

  • Persistence: Terminal blocks are housed in long-lived sessions. You can exit the app, switch devices, and return to your exact state.
  • Accessibility: Native support for macOS, iOS, and the web.
  • Collaboration: Live session sharing is a core, built-in feature.
  • Refinement: We are eliminating the "papercuts" of legacy tools.

Our "Quality of Life" Checklist:

  • Native scrollback functionality
  • Intuitive text selection
  • Fluid scrolling mechanics

While starting with a terminal multiplexer might seem narrow, we view the terminal as the essential connective tissue between developers, AI agents, and infrastructure. It is the perfect foundation.

# Example of the Superlogical philosophy:
# Instead of: ssh user@host -> tmux attach -t session
# Superlogical: connect session_id --device ios
