13 Models and 4 Agents on SWE Tasks: Go, Java, Python, Rust, TS
Analysis of the SWE-rebench v2 Leaderboard
This report examines the performance of various Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous agents tasked with solving real-world software engineering (SWE) challenges across multiple programming languages, including
Python,Java,Go,Rust, andTypeScript.
📊 Benchmark Overview
The SWE-rebench v2 evaluation provides a rigorous look at how AI handles complex codebase modifications. The current data slice is defined by the following parameters:
- Temporal Window: 15/05/2026 01/07/2026
- Scope: 111 distinct problems sourced from 65 different repositories.
- Objective: Measure the ability of models to resolve issues autonomously.

🔍 Key Insights & Nuances
Efficiency vs. Performance
There is a stark contrast between raw power and cost-efficiency. For instance, while Anthropic Fable 5 leads in resolution, it costs \approx \4.4046.5%$0.10$).
Agentic Behavior
The leaderboard includes both standalone models and Agents. Agents typically wrap models in a loop of thought action observation.
- Top Agent:
Junie(61.8% Resolved) - Most Affordable Agent:
Cursor($0.41/problem)
Token Consumption
The token usage varies wildly. MiniMax M3 consumes a massive million tokens per problem, whereas GPT-5.6 Luna is highly concise, using only thousand.
🛠 Technical Implementation Note
To replicate these results, the system likely employs a loop similar to this pseudo-code:
def evaluate_swe_task(model, problem):
context = load_repository(problem.repo)
attempt_count = 0
while attempt_count < 5:
solution = model.generate_fix(context, problem.issue)
if verify_solution(solution):
return "RESOLVED"
attempt_count += 1
return "FAILED"
