JetKVM Mini
Introducing the JetKVM Mini
Press Release | September 11, 2026
The JetKVM family is expanding with the arrival of the JetKVM Mini, a compact, matchbox-sized KVM solution available in both wired and wireless configurations. This device brings 1080p video capture, open-source firmware, and the full suite of JetKVM cloud and web services into a tiny form factor.
📦 At a Glance: The Models
There are two primary versions of the Mini:
- JetKVM Mini (Ethernet): The wired powerhouse for \text{\39}$.
- JetKVM Mini W (Wireless): The flexible, cord-free option for \text{\42}$.
Pro Tip: Bulk purchasing reduces the cost further, bringing units down to \text{\33}\text{$36}$ respectively when bought in packs of three.
📐 Physical Design & Purpose
The device is housed in a sleek aluminium chassis measuring (roughly ).
Why the Mini? The goal was to create a KVM affordable enough to be deployed on every single machine. This required
simply shrinking the old designstarting from scratch. The team re-engineered the device to focus on the core essentials: video capture, HID control (keyboard/mouse), virtual media mounting, and constant accessibility.
It is the ideal solution for "hard-to-reach" hardware, such as:
- PCs located in separate rooms.
- Media boxes tucked under televisions.
- Server racks with limited available switch ports.
The port interface for the Ethernet and Wireless models.
🛠️ Technical Hardware Specifications
The Mini is powered by the ESP32-P4X microcontroller, which features an integrated hardware H.264 encoder.
Video & Connectivity
- Resolution: Supports @ or @ .
- Streaming: Video is encoded on-chip and delivered via WebRTC to the browser.
- Wireless: Equipped with
IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax(2.4/5 GHz),Bluetooth LE(for initial setup), andIEEE 802.15.4(supporting Zigbee and Thread).
Port Architecture
The device utilizes two primary USB interfaces:
- Target Connection: A
USB 2.0 High Speed(480 Mbps) port that handles power draw and presents the keyboard, mouse, and virtual media to the host. - Auxiliary Port: A
USB 2.0 Full Speed(12 Mbps) port used for secondary power or extension connections.
Virtual Media: A side-mounted TF Card slot allows users to load their own ISOs for remote installation.

💻 Software & Ecosystem
The firmware for the ESP32-P4X has been rewritten from the ground up and is open source from launch. Because it utilizes the same protocols as the original JetKVM, the existing cloud and web interfaces remain fully compatible.
Key Software Features:
- Remote keyboard/mouse control and text pasting.
- Customizable keyboard layouts.
JetKVM Cloudfor remote WAN access.- Wake-on-LAN, OIDC login, and MQTT/Home Assistant integration.
- OTA (Over-the-Air) updates with automatic rollback safety.
Upcoming Enhancements
The "OS Service" for host machines is launching in the coming weeks. It will provide:
- Support for JetKVM Mini from Day 1.
- 4K screen capture.
- Shared clipboard functionality.
- Guest terminal access.
- Direct file transfer.
Security & Customization
For those requiring high security, a digest of the public signing key is embedded in the chip's eFuse. This allows users to lock the device to only accept JetKVM-signed firmware via a simple toggle in the web UI.
